1.I don't envy women for not having to shave...cuz when it comes to look presentable and all...they have a much harder time.
2. But having been kicked out of an 'empty' 'Ladies special' train here in Chennai (apparently written in Tamil in front of the train, only after bearing the brunt of a lady police officer's stick did I come to know that :P); I for sure got charged up.
3. Sitting cross-legged - LOL. I dont understand when women can sit any which they want without risking any damage to any kind of property....why do they always choose to sit only cross-legged?

Yeah the raw energy cost is same but the energy used per km is different. I have also divided the number by 4 for cars. :) That may explain the numbers. Also, remember that cars are 10x heavier than cycle+rider.

Still, it will be 0.001 Rs/kJ as compared to 0.00077 Rs/kJ for Diesel. i.e., the amount you spend for 'wheat-energy' is about 1.3 times the amount you spend for 'diesel-energy'.Now, compare the results you got 0.9 Rs/km for cycling and 1 Rs/km for a car. There isn't hardly any difference - which is caused because of the cheap petroleum 'diesel-energy'. If you deduct that cost advantage of diesel, by some normalization, the results will reverse.

those who ride a bike or drive car, anyway have to shell out the fat, perhaps in treadmill. walking/cycling/running will achieve this purpose at no extra cost, and they get some extra work done such as buying some groceries etc.

you haven't considered the savings on gym membership costs have you??those might be some significant numbers to work with as well. and the reductions in medical expenses.god knows those are BIG numbers:P

Comparing them is not so atrocious when you know that this bio mass is actually used in boilers etc in lieu of Furnace Oil. I hate to be rude, but I have done enough work on this to know what I am saying. :)
